On the day after Thanksgiving, County of San Diego Parks and Recreation encourages San Diegans to swap shopping plans for outdoor experiences. They celebrate the 'upside of outside' with family-friendly activities in parks and preserves across the region, on a holiday they’ve coined Green Friday!
Green Friday promotes fitness and fun in County parks. Events are both active and educational – aligning with County Parks’ mission to balance recreation opportunity with efforts to protect and preserve land and local wildlife.
Activities are open to the public and there is no cost to attend. In fact, even the day-use fees (at parks where they are collected) are waived!
Story Trails
This year, San Diego County Library joins in the celebration of the outdoors!
Your San Diego County Library is excited to bring you San Diego County Library Story Trails. Join us at parks throughout the county to read stories and enjoy nature this Green Friday! These are original stories written and designed by library staff and we are so excited to share them with you.
Choose your location, choose your Story Trail!
Each site has two stories for your enjoyment.
Stories will be displayed November 26 through November 28 at the locations listed below.
