With heavy rains expected around the region this week, the County of San Diego and CAL FIRE are offering free sandbags to residents and businesses in the unincorporated areas to help protect homes and other property from flooding and soil erosion.
The Spring Valley Library parking lot is one of the locations where residents can pick up sandbags. Sand and sandbags are also available at fire stations and other locations around the county.
Please call ahead before arriving to double-check availability and remember to bring a shovel to fill the bags.
